Learn how to draw in abstract or unexpected ways to get at the truth of bodily experience beyond standardized depictions with Erin Williams. You can pick up a copy of Erin’s book Commute from our friends at Bookshop, where proceeds will help benefit The Believer and independent bookstores.

Watch the video of the livestream below, and follow these steps to draw your own body comics.

For this workshop, you will need paper and something to draw with.

Drawing body comics:

Prompt 1: When was the last time you were anxious? What did it feel like in your body?

Prompt 2: When was the last time you were sick or injured? What did it feel like in your body?

Prompt 3: Draw yourself as a monster.

We’d love to see your body comics! Post them to social and tag @believermag and @erin_r_williams.

This workshop was supported in part by Zappos.
