She is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and The Atlantic, and her work has appeared in n+1, The Paris Review, The Guardian, The American Scholar, The Best American Essays 2016, and elsewhere. She is also the creator and host of Thresholds, a Literary Hub podcast. She lives in New York.
